Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 now available at Westcoast

But what does this mean for you?

You’ve probably seen the news that Westcoast are now selling Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 and the ultra-sleek Surface Book. This means along with all of your usual Microsoft products and software, you can get all of your Microsoft needs from one place.

So, why should you consider adding the Surface to your product portfolio?

They’ve been built by Microsoft for all things Microsoft
The whole Surface range has been designed from the ground up by Microsoft, so as you’d expect it’s been made with the full product family and ecosystem in mind. This is particularly true of the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book: with both being released after the launch of Windows 10, it’s clear that they’ve been created with the OS in mind. Indeed, with the recent Anniversary Update extending the pen functionality to desktop notes, it’s fair to say that Windows 10 itself was influenced by the Surface.

They’re all types of fast
How do you define speed when it comes to your devices? It used to be solely focused on performance power, but in recent times there’s been more of a shift to devices being more and more user friendly. It’s all well and good to be able to have twelve different programs (or apps) running at once, but if it’s an awkward process to open and use these apps then you’re missing the point.

The Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book come in a few different flavours in terms of specs, ranging from ‘fast’ to ‘Mach 6’. They’ve also got the user-friendly features that you’ve now come to expect from premium devices, plus a few extras, such as tapping the Surface Pen to open a blank OneNote page, or pressing and holding the top button of the pen to activate Cortana, as well as the device unlocking automatically with your face as soon as you sit in front of it.

They’re actually portable
You’d think this should go without saying, but with the constantly-improving clock speeds and multi-tasking that we’ve been spoilt with, unfortunately batteries have been neglected. Not so with the Surface Book or the Surface Pro 4. These aren’t laptops that latch you to a plug socket, they’re devices that are as versatile as you are. With this in mind, the Surface Pro 4 comes out of the box with 9 hours of video playback time, whereas the Surface Book can get through 12 hours of video playback on a single charge.
