Secure Productive Enterprise: The Next Big Thing for Licences in Office 365

By Tom Marwood

At the backend of last year, rather under the radar, Microsoft released a gem of a package that rolled out across multiple platforms. Although not advertised too much at the time, it’s now being noticed, and rightly so. This blog will discuss what it is, and how you can license it.

SPE (Secure Productive Enterprise) is the latest ‘bundle’ to be rolled out on Office 365 away from your standard Office 365 offerings. This combines the latest technology across Windows, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility and Security. Obviously there are packages such as Enterprise E3, Business Premium and so forth, but SPE gives you that next level of products, all in one price. There are two different products for SPE (E3 and E5), each offering the below:

Secure Productive Enterprise E3
  • Office 365 Enterprise E3
  • Enterprise Mobility + Security E3
  • Windows 10 E3
Secure Productive Enterprise E5
  •  Office 365 Enterprise E5
  •  Enterprise Mobility + Security E5
  •  Windows 10 E5
This is cheaper than buying the offering individually (obviously!) and comes with all of the bells and whistles that you'd expect. Some of the more advanced features are:
  • Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection for end point breach detection.
  •  Microsoft Cloud App Security for getting control of the SaaS apps that employees are using.
  • Azure Information Protection to ensure information stays secure.
  •  Office 365 Advanced Security Management to give greater visibility and control over the Office 365 environment.
A full feature list of the Secure Productive Enterprise Plans can be found here.

SPE is currently available through the CSP programme at Westcoast. Although you can purchase the products separately through OPEN licensing, the SPE SKU itself isn’t available, so you wouldn't be getting it at the offer price. We’ve seen a huge uptake of SPE at the start of the year, so if this is something you’ve recently heard about and want to know more please get in contact with us, and we’d be more than happy to assist where needed!

If this product is new to you, and would like know more around how it works, product pricing or what CSP as a whole can offer your business, then come along to our webinar dedicated to SPE. The CSP platform has grown so much over the last two years, and it will only be going on to bigger things after Microsoft’s Inspire event later in the year.

For more details about SPE, register for Westcoast’s webinar on the 17th of May. You can also contact Tom and the Cloud Team on 0333 003 1701 or by emailing Cloud@westcoast.co.uk.
